Former employee accused of driving his car into a Canoga Park restaurant

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA — A woman who allegedly intentionally drove her car into a Canoga Park restaurant has been arrested just a week after damaging one of the restaurant’s food trucks, according to multiple radio reports.

Customers and passersby observed the gray car repeatedly backing up and driving into the facade of the Taco Reyes store near Topanga Canyon Boulevard and Saticoy Street around 7:15 p.m. Friday.

The video shows that the rampage continued into the dining area, causing significant damage to the wall of the adjacent bar. No injuries were reported to customers or staff, while the driver suffered minor injuries.

Los Angeles Police Department officers reportedly fired non-lethal shots before arresting her. Police arrested the woman on suspicion of vandalism and may also charge her with assault with a deadly weapon because there were patrons in the establishment at the time, CBS2 reported.

Owner Miguel Reyes told reporters that the driver was a former employee who had recently been fired, but her mother and cousin still worked at the restaurant.
