Did Joan from “The Golden Bachelorette” just reveal her favorite?

Have you ever been here?

Not to Disneyland, but to Disney World. I love it here. I like scary roller coasters, but we also rode Dumbo, the flying elephant, and that was fun. We were allowed to act like kids. We met Mickey and Minnie Mouse and we met the stormtroopers from Star Wars. R2-D2 flirted with us. He was hilarious. So the whole thing was just… I felt like a kid. We even drank this blue milk. It was just fun. And then we topped it off with dinner at 21 Royal. You rarely get to do something like that. It’s crazy.

What was it like for you to give your first rose in private on a date?

I felt like it was obvious he was going to get it, but Chock said he was scared he wasn’t going to get it.

Really?

I say, “Obviously I’m not sending good signals.” He says, “No, you are, but I just don’t have confidence in this.” I thought it was very obvious that I would give it to him, but he wasn’t sure. I realized it was more special than I thought because it was so obvious that we were having a great time and he wasn’t sure.

Do you appreciate a man who is not overly self-confident?

Yes, in a way. I was definitely giving signals. I was holding his hand and clinging to him and having a great time and we were laughing… but it shows that he just wasn’t expecting anything. That’s very humbling.

I hate to put it this way, but how are you feeling on this journey so far?

Yes, you have to say that.

This journey only started less than a week ago, but do you already have the feeling that you could find a partner here?

Yes. I almost feel stupid saying this because it’s been so short… but I feel much more confident (than even the first night). I can’t imagine a date going much better than this one, so I feel really good about it. And if none went better than this one, I would be very happy with this trip. It would be very good.

That’s a great sign, as is the fact that you’re doing this, as you said, in a very public setting.

Very public environment.

I loved watching people do a double take when you and Chock walked through the park, like, “Wait a minute, is that who I think it is?”

Normally I would stop and talk to anyone who recognized me, but I couldn’t do that today, so I felt guilty. Tonight we were all alone on the grassy knoll watching the fireworks, and people kept turning to look at us. So that was a little more awkward, even though it was one of the best parts of the date. I mean, those fireworks were amazing. They were so beautiful. And the music? Oh, that was really fun.
