Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark alerted referees to a fan during her team’s first away playoff game against the Connecticut Sun on Wednesday night. Officials then spoke with security, who removed the fan from his seat.

The incident occurred after Clark apparently argued with Sun forward DeWanna Bonner. The two had already clashed earlier in the game when Clark felt Bonner didn’t give her enough room after a three-point shot. No foul was called.

The Sun entered the best-of-three series with a one-game-to-nil lead after winning the opening game on Sunday 93-69.

ESPN cameras caught the fan talking to security after being escorted from his seat, but he was quickly allowed back in, according to Scott Agness of Fieldhouse Files.

It is not immediately clear what the fan did to attract Clark’s (and later security) attention.

Clark was asked afterward about the rough first quarter:

Clark was called the unanimous Associated Press Rookie of the Year award after leading all first-year players in numerous categories, including points (19.2 PPG), assists (8.4 APG) and steals (1.3 SPG). She also led the WNBA in assists (337) and three-pointers made (122). The ex-Iowa star also helped the Fever end a streak of seven consecutive losing seasons outside the playoffs, leading the team to a 20-20 record and a 6th-place finish.
