Boston aims for series victory

The Boston Red Sox will try to win the series against the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday night at the Rogers Centre.

Boston, which is 3 1/2 games back of a wild-card spot in the American League with four games remaining, just picked up a 6-5 overtime win.

Left fielder Tyler O’Neill returns to the lineup and will bat fourth. Connor Wong is back behind the plate in place of Danny Jansen and will catch 24-year-old right-hander Richard Fitts. Fitts has pitched over 15 innings in his three starts for Boston and has yet to allow an earned run.

The Blue Jays will counter with veteran right-hander Kevin Gausman, who threw five hitless innings against the Texas Rangers last week.
