BOSTON – The WBZ Weather Team has issued a NEXT Weather Warning for periods of heavy precipitation approaching Thursday.

While the Cape and the islands were hit by a deluge over the weekend, most inland areas did not receive nearly as much rain. Given the remarkable Dry section We have experienced rain from the end of August until most of this month, which on Thursday can be described as mostly beneficial.

There may be some showers overnight from Wednesday to Thursday, especially north and west of Boston.

The first round of heavier rains is expected to arrive around midday and last throughout the afternoon.

Thursday will be very wet in the evening traffic, with heavy rain in some areas and some flooding on the roads.

There might even be a few claps of thunder.

Gusty winds could also occur under some of the heavier storm cells.

There will be a final downpour on Thursday night, moving from north to south across the region.

It is expected to make its presence felt on the south coast around midnight or shortly thereafter, with the region clearing up afterwards.

The weather forecast for Boston this weekend is better

Friday promises to be a much nicer and drier day.

Rainfall amounts will vary by location, depending on where the heaviest rain falls. Maximum amounts could be between 1 and 2 inches.

Great news for the coming weekend: Another high pressure system will settle over the Northeast and prevent rain or storms from reaching the region, including the Remains of Helene.

It looks like a great weekend for all things fall. Autumn leaves is now nearing its peak in many of the highest elevations in northern New England.
