How to watch the Philadelphia Phillies and Cubs games on Wednesday: channel, stream and lineups

The Philadelphia Phillies played on Tuesday like a team that had celebrated its first National League East division title in eleven years the night before, and this was reflected in the final score.

On Wednesday, they can win their three-game mid-week series against the Chicago Cubs and move one step closer to their goal of achieving the best record in MLB.

The Phillies will rely on left-hander Cristopher Sanchez (11-9, 3.25 ERA) to start on Wednesday.

In his final game, Sanchez allowed two earned runs on three hits and five walks while recording seven strikeouts in five innings and earning his 11th win of the season.

Sanchez recovered well in September after a two-month dry spell in July and August.

In four starts this month, the left-hander has posted a 1.80 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 25 strikeouts in 25 innings.

On Wednesday, Sanchez will make his second start this season against the Cubs.

In his first inning, he allowed seven earned runs on seven hits and three walks, while recording three strikeouts in four innings and suffering his fourth loss of the season.

Here’s how Philadelphia will line up on Wednesday:

1.) DH Kyle Schwarber
2.) SS Trea Turner
3.) 1B Bryce Harper
4.) RF Nick Castellanos
5.) 2B Bryson Stott
6.) C JT Realmuto

Chicago will counter with right-hander Javier Assad (7-5, 3.34 ERA).

In his last start, Assad allowed three earned runs on seven hits and one walk and struck out five players in five innings.

Assad had difficulty finishing the season this month.

In three starts in September, the right-hander posted a 4.32 ERA, a 1.44 WHIP and 15 strikeouts in 16 2/3 innings.

Away games were also an issue for Assad.

In 14 starts outside of Wrigley Field, Assad has posted a 4.17 ERA with a 1.36 WHIP and 63 strikeouts in 73 1/3 innings.

Here’s how the Cubs will line up on Wednesday:

1.) LF Ian Happ
2.) SS Dansby Swanson
3.) 3B Isaac Paredes
4.) 1B Cody Bellinger
5.) DH Patrick Wisdom
6.) 2B Nico Hoerner
