Padres decide with triple play, Tigers fight for the wild card | Baseball Bar-B-Cast

This embedded content is not available in your region.

There’s always a reason to celebrate a postseason berth, but the San Diego Padres did it Tuesday night in one of the most beautiful ways they could have ever imagined. Playing against their archrivals, the Los Angeles Dodgers, at Dodgers Stadium, the Padres nailed the first game-winning triple play that clinched their postseason berth and secured their spot for this year’s October baseball games.

Jake Mintz and Jordan Shusterman talk about the extremely impressive and rare triple play that Gold Glover Manny Machado blasted, the Dodgers’ sloppiness last night that we’ve become accustomed to in the postseason, and whether LA fans should be worried that the boys in blue can’t win the division.

Also on this episode of Baseball Bar-B-Cast, the guys talk about the Atlanta Braves winning Game 1 of the mega series against the New York Mets, whether the weather will affect the rest of the series, the Arizona Diamondbacks’ losing streak may keep them out of the playoffs, and the Detroit Tigers seeming to have all but secured a spot in the AL Wild Card.

To close the show, Jake and Jordan discuss the Tigers’ call-up of top prospect Jackson Jobe, the announcement of the retirement of longtime Colorado Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon, and Oakland A’s owner John Fisher’s letter to fans outlining the reasons behind the decision to relocate the team.
