5-star Michigan State basketball target Jalen Haralson commits this week

Michigan State’s first major commitment announcement in the class of 2025 is imminent, as five-star forward Jalen Haralson has announced that he will announce his commitment on Wednesday.

Along with this announcement, Haralson said he would make his decision between Michigan State, Indiana and Notre Dame.

It’s no surprise that these three schools are on Haralson’s final list, as all three have been courting him heavily for a long time. They’re also the only three programs that have invited him to visit recently, as Haralson canceled his remaining visits after visiting MSU two weekends ago. Haralson is also from Indiana, so proximity to home seems to be a factor as well.

The question on everyone’s mind now is whether Tom Izzo and Michigan State have a chance on Wednesday. Unfortunately, I can’t give a firm answer at this time. Haralson hasn’t made any official predictions yet, so we can’t rely on the experts this time. However, there are some rumors floating around about which team to beat.

Unfortunately, it sounds like Indiana and Notre Dame are the teams to beat, with the Irish potentially taking the top spot. That’s the rumor I’ve heard the most so far, but I’ve also seen that all three of those teams still have a reasonable chance to win. The only thing we really know right now is that no one knows who Haralson will choose.

One thing is for sure, though: Izzo did everything he could to win this recruitment. Haralson was one of his top targets throughout the cycle, and he made sure the Spartans were at the top of Haralson’s list the entire time. So if Michigan State gets bad news on Wednesday, it won’t be for a lack of effort.

We hope Michigan State gets some good news on Wednesday and can start its 2025 recruiting class off with a bang.
