Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever will play their most important basketball game of the year on Wednesday night in a crucial WNBA playoff duel against the Connecticut Sun.
As the Fever prepare for Game 2 of the best-of-three series, Clark and the rest of the team are well aware of what’s at stake. Clark managed just 11 points on 4-of-17 shooting in Indiana’s 93-69 loss over the weekend, but the rookie guard will look to improve her numbers and help even the series in front of what is expected to be a loud, sold-out crowd at Mohegan Sun Arena.
Clark herself is familiar with pressure, having participated in several crucial matchups in the NCAA Tournament while playing for Iowa.
Clark had a brief but powerful message about her team’s attitude ahead of Wednesday’s game.
“40 minutes, that’s all we’re guaranteed,” Clark said of the Indiana Fever social media team.
“Every game means a lot,” Clark added. “Go into it with the same intensity and just give it your all.”
The words of a real competitor.
Clark and the Fever will face the Sun on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. ET. If Indiana can pull off the win, Game 3 will be Friday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The Sun have already beaten the Fever 3-1 in the 2024 WNBA regular season.
