Temporary Amtrak route between Chicago and Miami with stops in the Pittsburgh area

A new, temporary Amtrak route between Chicago and Miami will stop at two locations in the Pittsburgh area along the way.

The Floridian offers direct round-trip service between Chicago and Miami with stops in Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Washington DC, Jacksonville, Orlando and Tampa.

It will also stop in Connellsville.

“The Floridian offers customers an exceptional and sustainable journey to great destinations between Chicago and Miami, while providing the amenities and delicious food our guests enjoy when they travel with us,” said Eliot Hamlisch, Amtrak’s executive vice president and chief commercial officer.

This train combines the Capitol Limited and Silver Star routes for a limited time and makes its maiden voyage on Sunday, November 10. Tickets are on sale now.
