Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva took aim at Arsenal’s lack of title winning chances, insisting the Gunners “did not come to play football” in Sunday’s 2-2 draw.w.

John Stones’ 98th-minute equaliser secured City a share of the points in a game that was largely one-sided after Arsenal were down to ten men late in the first half. City finished the game with 77% possession and 33 shots on goal to Arsenal’s five.

After the game, Silva sharply criticised Arsenal’s approach and stressed that the rivalry between City and Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool was far more entertaining.

“The difference (between the rivalries)? I don’t know. Maybe that Liverpool have won the Premier League before, Arsenal haven’t,” Silva said. TNT Sports. “That Liverpool won the Champions League, Arsenal didn’t.

“Liverpool have always faced us head-on and tried to win the games. So from that perspective, the games against Arsenal were not like the ones we had and have against Liverpool. So yes, maybe a different rivalry.”

Silva continued his criticism of Arsenal, adding: “There was only one team that came to play football.”

“The other one unfortunately reached the limits of what was possible and what the referee allowed. We are not happy because we wanted the three points, but personally I am happy with the way we played and the way we accepted the game. I am happy that we always go out on the field and try to win every game.”
