A podcast about the Jacksonville Jaguars’ loss to the Buffalo Bills on Monday night

The Jacksonville Jaguars are far behind.

The Jaguars entered Week 3 under a lot of pressure and desperately needed a win on Monday Night Football. But instead of fixing their problems and finding a way to win against the Buffalo Bills, the Jaguars completely collapsed on the national stage, losing 47-10.

The 47 points were the fourth-most the team has ever allowed in franchise history, while the 37-point loss was the most in the Doug Pederson era.

To recap the Jaguars’ latest loss, we’ve put together an instant reaction episode of the Jacksonville Jaguars Insider Podcast.

Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson also spoke on Monday night. Below is a partial transcript of

Q: What do you think went wrong from the beginning?

Pederson: “I mean, just kind of the same things, right? (inaudible) Yeah, it just wasn’t good.”

Q: Were the Bills surprised by their pass-heavy offense?

Pederson: “No, that’s what their offense has been like this year. They executed it well and a lot of things have come out of that. They executed their offense well.”

Q: How is quarterback Trevor Lawrence’s confidence right now?

Pederson: “You know, if he’s feeling like I am right now, then we’re all kind of down, right? Probably not very high. We just have to keep working and keep pushing and work our way out of this.”

Q: Are there any immediate changes he can make?

Pederson: We’ll have to look at the tape and decide this week is a short week. I don’t know some of those answers.

Q: Will he stick with your current game plan or will he go in the opposite direction?

Pederson: “Well, I don’t necessarily think you’re going in the opposite direction. You’ve put a lot of time into it. But there have to be changes, whether it’s game design, personnel, everything is on the table, let’s put it that way, right? Those are all things that we have to look at, that we have to look at as a personnel, and make adjustments.”

Q: What happens if the boys don’t respond to what you’re trying?

Pederson: “It’s not for lack of effort or effort or anything. I just think sometimes you just have to get out of your own way, right? We keep digging ourselves into a hole early and can’t seem to get out, especially in this one-sided game today.”
