Sean “Diddy” Combs’ music streams skyrocket after arrest and indictment

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ music catalog saw a jump in streams after he arrested and charged with the federal fight against sex trafficking and organized crime last week.

Industry data and analytics firm Luminate said the music mogul’s music – under his many nicknames, including Diddy, Puff Daddy and P. Diddy – saw an average increase of 18.3 percent in on-demand streams during the week of his arrest compared to the previous week.

A surge in streaming numbers following controversy is not unusual. After a documentary about R. Kelly accused the R&B singer of sexual misconduct with women and underage girls, his numbers nearly doubled.

Combs was arrested on September 17 and held without bail after being charged with sex trafficking, conspiracy to commit organized crime and transportation for the purpose of prostitution.

In the indictment, which dates back to 2008, he is accused of abusing, threatening and coercing women over the years “to satisfy his sexual desires, protect his reputation and cover up his behavior.”

Combs pleaded not guilty to the charges in federal court in New York City.

The music mogul stays in Federal detention in a Brooklyn detention center until his trial for sex trafficking.

The waterfront MDC Brooklyn industrial complex is notorious for its horrific conditions — inmates won a $10 million settlement in a class-action lawsuit after enduring freezing temperatures during an eight-day power outage in 2019 — and houses 1,200 inmates.

Combs joins other prominent inmates, such as singer R.Kellyfallen cryptocurrency mogul Sam Bankman FriedRapper Yes Rule – even Al Sharpton served a brief stint – who were held in the same federal prison.

Combs has a number of Complaints In recent months, allegations of sexual misconduct, abuse and violence have emerged. Combs and his representatives have denied all allegations.

In November 2023, Ventura filed a lawsuit accused Combs of rape and abuse during their relationship; he denied the allegations. She reached an agreement the next day.
