Reporters saw Joe Burrow and Zac Taylor go to the coaches’ offices after the loss to MNF

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow (9) and head coach Zac Taylor speak with a referee as the decision is made to stop play in the first quarter of the NFL Week 17 game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Buffalo Bills at Paycor Stadium in downtown Cincinnati, Monday, Jan. 2, 2023. The walk of shame for the Cincinnati Bengals after their surprising prime-time home loss to the Washington Commanders was a bit strange.

Usually the players just go back to the locker room and that’s it.

But on Monday night, reporters noticed something strange: Joe Burrow and Zac Taylor went to the back and not to the locker room, but to the coaches’ offices.

In his post-game press conference, Burrow said the duo simply went there to have a positive, private conversation. Still, it was odd enough that it was recorded and then told to the people involved.

And it sounds a little stranger than normal, considering Burrow just threw three points and the offense didn’t punt when the score reached 33… only for the defense to have to let a rookie quarterback score 38 points without the visitors punting.

With a current record of 0-3 and historically breathtaking, terrible chances of making the playoffs, the whole thing was interesting to say the least.
