Mac Jones hits relationship milestone as Dolphins rumors grow

Mac Jones and Sophie Scott celebrate half a decade together.

The longtime couple celebrated their fifth anniversary on Tuesday, while Scott, 25, and the Jaguars quarterback, 26, spent an anniversary evening together on Saturday.

In photos shared to Scott’s Instagram story on Sunday, the couple – who have been together since 2019 – posed for a cozy photo before dinner.

The table set for Scott and Jones was decorated with confetti reading “Happy Anniversary” and rose petals.

Jones, a former first-round pick in 2021, spent the first three years of his NFL career with the Patriots, who drafted him 15th.

Despite a Pro Bowl-caliber rookie season, Jones struggled over the next two years and was eventually benched last season in favor of Bailey Zappe.

Jones was traded to Jacksonville in March when the Patriots – under new head coach Jerod Mayo – drafted his successor, Drake Maye, as their third player in April.

He is the replacement for Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who was selected number 1 in the same draft as Jones.

Although Jones has not yet played this season, his name has still been linked with transfer rumors.

After Tua Tagovailoa’s recent severe concussion on September 12, there have been numerous rumors about whether Miami will sign an experienced player.

Former Patriots player Devin McCourty recently raised the possibility of Jones joining the Dolphins while Miami moves on with Skylar Thompson and Tyler Huntley.

“Maybe Miami calls him and he gets traded to Miami – Miami, San Francisco, a lot of teams that have come into play as possible places for him,” McCourty said on PFT Live, as reported by NBC Sports Boston. “I know Mac would love to do the draft (in 2021) again.”

The Dolphins (1-1) have since placed Tagovailoa on the injured list and Thompson, a seventh-round pick in 2022, will face the Seahawks (2-0) in Seattle on Sunday.

Miami management stressed that there is no timetable for Tagovailoa’s return.

The Jaguars, still hunting for their first win of the season, will visit the Bills (2-0) on Monday Night Football.
