Serena Williams says her 7-year-old daughter Olympia, Fangirls about Taylor Swift and not Disney princesses.
During the interview with Williams, 42, at the INBOUND conference on Thursday, 19 September, Journalist Kara Swisher asked the former tennis star whether Olympia was interested in Frozen.
“She doesn’t like princesses, she likes Taylor Swift,” Williams said, adding, “Me too.”
Williams shares Olympia and daughter Adira River, 1, with husband Alexis Ohaniana technology entrepreneur and founder of the online forum Reddit.

Williams told Swisher, 61, that she was worried her daughters were growing up in a “scary world.” “The world of children today is digital. I’m always online with my daughter, but we don’t let her on certain platforms.”
She continued, “It’s so interesting that with so much online and the amount of access children have, you never know what might happen to them in the next moment.”
But she added: “I try to think positively. I think we should take it slow, be a little slower with the electronics and just let them be a kid for as long as possible.”
When Swisher asked her for parenting advice, Williams joked: “Parenting advice? Please give it to me, thank you very much.”
Then she gave her tips: “Just show up. Wake up. That’s all I do. And I could hardly wake up today!”

Williams explained that parents “don’t necessarily have to win Wimbledon or a gold medal to be a champion.” As she put it, “Being a champion really just means being there for your kids.”
She recalled coming home after her flight was delayed and making lunch for her children. “I knew I wouldn’t be there to see them eat it, but I knew I had accomplished it, and that made me feel good. And I tell you, that made me feel like a master mom.”
