Delvey and Sosa danced a cha-cha to Sabrina Carpenter‘s “Espresso” – complete with the rhinestone-studded ankle bracelet – received 18 out of 30 points on Tuesday. Afterwards, 56-year-old Inaba offered her support.
“I just want to say, let’s all give this a chance, because I can imagine that was scary for you,” Inaba said during her on-air critique. “And I’m not for this or anything you did, but this is about your dancing. Let’s all give her that space, please.”
Delvey, who had previously been convicted of grand larceny, was unaware of the audience’s reaction to the performance.
“It’s hard to say because we just got off the stage,” said Delvey Us. “I’m not sure yet what the public reaction has been, so it’s hard to say.”
Overall, Delvey found the live premiere to be a “great experience.”
“I’m glad the night is over,” she joked on Tuesday. “I think I could have done my dancing a little better. I think I did better in rehearsals, but it was a great experience. I’ve never performed in front of a live audience before and hopefully I’ll get better in the future.”
Sosa’s best friend and former DWTS Competitors, JoJo Siwa was spotted in the crowd cheering on the couple.

Siwa, 21, even gave the couple some advice before they hit the dance floor.
“She literally pulled me aside and said, ‘Can I talk to him for a minute?’ And she was really, really sweet,” Sosa gushed. “My journey with JoJo is more about her helping me embrace my sexuality and everything. So she just showed me a picture when I wasn’t out yet and she said, ‘Make sure you know who you’re dancing for. You’re dancing for him.’ And I just started crying and it was just such a beautiful moment.”
Before Sosa and Delvey’s ballroom debut, they bonded during rehearsals.
“I think Ezra appreciates my sense of humor,” said Delvey Us. “Not everyone would do that, so that was a big plus because I don’t want to censor myself in front of my dance partner.”

“She really makes me laugh,” joked Sosa Usand added that he even planned to wear matching ankle bracelets for their performance on Tuesday. “I think they’ll wait until later in the season to do that.”
Delvey had received a special permit from ICE to move from New York to California for DWTS while she was wearing an ankle bracelet. (Delvey’s time in prison caused her to overstay her existing visa.)
While Delvey previously said Us Although she was not afraid to dance with the ankle bracelet, she developed a blister during her first dance rehearsal.
