Inside Out 2—Disney-Pixar’s animated blockbuster featuring the voices of Amy Poehler, Maya Hawke and Ayo Edebiri—releases this week on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray and DVD.
Cinema release: 14 June Inside Out 2 became the highest-grossing film of the summer. Per The numbers, the sequel to the Oscar winner for best animated film 2015 Everything is upside down has grossed $651 million domestically and $1.012 billion internationally, bringing its worldwide box office total to $1.663 billion.
The numbers also noted that the production budget for Inside Out 2 was $200 million before printing and advertising costs.
The film was also a hit at Rotten tomatoes Critics gave it a “fresh” rating of 91% based on 308 reviews. RT Users also gave the film a “fresh” audience rating of 95%, based on over 5,000 verified reviews.
Inside Out 2 again shows Riley’s (Kensington Tallman) five emotions: joy (Pohler), fear (Louis Black), sadness (Phyllis Smith), terror (Tony Hale) and disgust (Liza Lapira).
However, as Riley turns 13 and puberty sets in, the teenager’s brain (also known as Headquarters) is being revamped and new emotions are taking over, including fear (Hawke), envy (Edebiri), boredom (Adèle Exarchopoulos) and embarrassment (Paul Walter Hauser). Since fear in particular suppresses Riley’s core emotions, Joy is committed to not controlling the girl’s life.
According to Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, the 4K HD Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD versions of Inside Out 2 will be available online and in stores from Tuesday, September 10th.
The price seems to be pretty consistent across different retailers. Amazon and Walmart have the 4K Steelbook + Digital Code version of Inside Out 2 The pre-order price is $44.96, the Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Code version is $24.59, and the DVD-only version is $19.99.
However, Target’s pre-order lists currently include the 4K Steelbook + Digital Code version of Inside Out 2 For pre-order, it’s listed for $51.99, the Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Code version for $24.99, and the DVD-only version for $26.99. However, prices are for orders only and may vary in stores.
In addition to theaters, Inside Out 2 is currently available as digital streaming via premium video-on-demand.
What bonus features are included on the discs?
According to WDSHE, the bonus features for Inside Out 2 CD releases include the documentary New emotionsin which the creation of the characters Fear, Embarrassment, Boredom and Envy is described.
In a second documentary Open the safeThe studio’s creatives present a kind of visual commentary on various scenes.
In addition, WDSHE stated that the discs will contain the five deleted scenes, called Cold opening, Broken joy, Pool party, Puberty Park And Shame Spiral.
WDSHE also pointed out that bonus features may vary by product and retailer.
The 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD versions of Inside Out 2 will be released on September 10th.
