Dave Grohl and Jordyn Blum enjoyed Wimbledon 2 months before his secret baby news

Dave Grohl and his wife Jordyn Blum were a picture-perfect couple as they enjoyed their date at Wimbledon in July, just two months before the rocker’s surprise baby announcement.

Grohl, 55, and Blum, 48, were last seen in public together on July 2, when they attended the famous tennis tournament in London together. The couple were photographed smiling and laughing, and even chatted with Duran Duran rocker Simon Le Bon from their seats in the coveted Royal Box.

The outing came two months before Grohl announced on Tuesday, September 10, that he had recently had a baby girl with another woman.

“I recently became a father to a daughter born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive father to her,” he wrote in a statement on Instagram. “I love my wife and children and am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We are grateful for your consideration for all of the children involved as we move forward together.”

A source told PEOPLE that the Foo Fighters rocker hired a divorce lawyer before sharing the news of his baby with the world.

Grohl and Blum, co-founders of the interior design team Hollis Jordyn Design, celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary in August. They are parents of daughters Violet (18), Harper (15) and Ophelia (10).

Following her father’s announcement, Violet apparently deactivated her Instagram accounts, but it remains unclear when she did so.

Grohl and Blum met in 2001 and had a casual relationship before going their separate ways. But when Grohl’s now-deceased bandmate Taylor Hawkins fell into a coma after an overdose of painkillers that same year, it inspired Grohl to change his mind.

“I had decided that I didn’t want to get into a serious relationship because I was single and walking around – I was free,” he said Teenage people in 2003. “But that was the first thing I thought about when Taylor came out of the coma: I had met the woman I was going to marry and have kids with, and I hadn’t spoken to her in months. She said, ‘You’re the last person I thought I’d ever hear from again.’ And I said, ‘Hey, let’s go out to dinner.'”

The couple married in 2003 at their home in Los Angeles.
