Fans don’t hold back after Trump compared Taylor Swift to Brittany Mahomes

Donald Trump has already felt the pressure from Democratic candidate Kamala Harris as he battles to win the 2024 presidential election, but avoiding the wrath of Swifties could be to his advantage, too.

Following the presidential candidates debate on Tuesday, September 10, Swift took to social media to officially announce her support for Harris, with the 14-time Grammy winner noting that it was Trump’s use of a fake AI Swift endorsed him “that made me realize that as a voter, I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election,” she wrote in her Instagram caption, adding, “The easiest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.”

Trump did not accept this defeat in silence.

The former president and current Republican candidate called Fox & Friends on Wednesday, September 11, he criticized Swift’s decision and compared her to Brittany Mahomes – the singer’s friend and alleged Trump supporter.

“It was just a matter of time,” Trump said of Swift’s support. “You can’t possibly support Biden. But (Swift is) a very liberal person. She always seems to support a Democrat and will probably pay a price for that in the market. But I like Brittany. Brittany is great. She’s the one I like much more than Taylor Swift. She’s the wife of the great quarterback (Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs). I think she’s great.”

As usual, the Swifties on X (formerly Twitter) didn’t take this lying down.

One fan noted that Swift “had the highest-grossing tour ever after endorsing Biden in 2020,” so she doesn’t have to worry about paying a price for it.

Another fan questioned Brittany’s fame.

“Britney (sic) is only known for being the wife of a famous football player,” said another Swiftie. “Taylor is an award-winning, commercially successful, independent singer.”

Others believe Trump didn’t even know who Brittany was until rumors began circulating that she was supporting him.

And some people attributed Trump’s comparison of two women to outright misogyny.

“Oh no, your AI campaign didn’t work so you’re going to act like a sexist piece of shit! Boooo,” said one Swiftie.

“He is literally so dumb!!,” said another. “He can’t even articulate the extent to which he prefers Brittany Mahomes to Taylor Swift! He doesn’t know any of these women!!!”

As the old saying goes, the devil works hard, but Swifties work even harder.
