Dave Grohl was in a bad mood at Wimbledon weeks before he announced that he had fathered an illegitimate child.
The 55-year-old frontman of the Foo Fighters and his wife Jordyn Blum were at the tennis tournament in London at the beginning of July.
In a video that went viral following Grohl’s scandal, the singer acted snarky while being interviewed by a BBC Sport reporter upon his arrival at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.
“Dave, can I have your Wimbledon prediction quickly, please?” the reporter asked, holding a large yellow microphone to Grohl, who was walking next to his wife.
“What?” Grohl replied with a confused look on his face.
“Who do you think will win Wimbledon?” asked the reporter.
“What?” Grohl said again before smiling briefly and trying to end the conversation.
The journalist specifically asked Grohl who he thought would win the men’s tournament, to which Grohl replied, “I have no idea.”
“The women’s?” asked the reporter.
“I can’t say,” Grohl replied as he walked away with 48-year-old Blum.
Fans criticized Grohl’s stance when the BBC published the interview on TikTok on July 2.
“Dave has been acting a bit pissy lately,” read one comment.
“He’s always been like that,” said another critic.
“He obviously has no idea who is even playing,” wrote another.
Fans had even more to say in the comments after Grohl announced on Tuesday that he cheated on his wife and had a baby with someone else.
“My husband was busy worrying about someone’s water breaking,” read one of the new responses on TikTok.
“Who will win the divorce, Dave,” said another fan.
Grohl and Blum had been together at Wimbledon two months before his infidelity and the baby bombshell.
The couple, who have been married since 2003, sat in a royal box with David Beckham.
Grohl wore a navy blue suit with a gold tie, while Blum wore a light blue blazer and matching midi dress to the posh sporting event.
Grohl announced his infidelity in an Instagram post.
“I recently became a father to a baby girl who was born outside of my marriage,” wrote the “Everlong” singer.
“I plan to be a loving and supportive father to her. I love my wife and children and am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We are grateful for your consideration toward all of the children involved as we move forward together,” he concluded his statement.
A spokesperson for Grohl told the Post that there was no further comment from the musician at this time.
The former Nirvana drummer and Blum have three daughters together: Violet Maye, 18, Harper Willow, 15, and Ophelia Saint, 10.
The couple met in 2001 at the legendary Sunset Marquis Whiskey Bar in West Hollywood. At the time, Blum was working as a producer at MTV.
“When I met my wife, we went on a few dates and I decided I wasn’t ready for a serious relationship. So I just stopped calling,” Grohl revealed in a 2017 interview with ELLE.
“After three months, I had an epiphany and called her back,” he added. “She picked up the phone and said, ‘Oh, I never thought I’d hear from you again.'”
Grohl was previously married to Jennifer Youngblood from 1994 to 1997.
The ex-partners reportedly separated because of Grohl’s “admitted infidelity.”
