EXCLUSIVE: This is a real opportunity for aspiring comedy artists Ashley Padilla, Emil Wakim And Jane Wickline who will join NBC’s venerable late-night sketch program? Saturday Night Live for its 50th season, which will be marked by celebrations, reunions and high-profile guests.
The trio will star in the show next season. Chloe Trost who was signed as a star player last season, is leaving the club. Meanwhile, after two years as a star player, Marcello Hernández, Michael Longfellow And Devon Walker are promoted to the main cast.
The majority of SNL The cast, including all longtime veterans, will be back for season 50, which premieres on September 28. Former student Maya Rudolph returns to reprise her Kamala Harris impersonation during the presidential election. In addition to Troast, Punkie Johnson is leaving the show after four seasons and Molly Kearney after two.

“Unfortunately, I was not invited back to SNL this season,” Troast wrote on IG after Deadline’s story was published. “I wish I could return to all the amazing friends I made there. It truly felt like home. But that wasn’t on the cards.” (You can read Troast’s full message below.)
Producer and executive producer is Lorne Michaels. Saturday Night Livethe No. 1 entertainment series on television and cable for the 2023-24 season in the 18-49 demographic, is produced in association with Broadway Video. The show’s 50th season celebration will culminate with a live primetime special on February 16.
Padilla comes from The Groundlings, where she has been a member of the main company since 2021. She recently guest starred on HBO’s Curb your enthusiasm and NBC’s Night CourtPadilla is repped by Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment and Verve.

Lebanese-American comedian Wakim made his late-night TV debut in 2022 on NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallonexecutive producer is SNL Boss Michaels. He was selected as the New Face of Comedy at the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival that same year and opened for Roy Wood Jr., Nikki Glaser and Hasan Minhaj. Wakim is represented by UTA and Strig Artist Management.
Wickline has built a large following on TikTok, where she appears as a performer in a live show Stack viewwith her comedy routines garnering more than 45 million likes. Her acting roles include the 2024 Mubi film My first filmand she tours as a sketch comedian. Wickline is represented by Gersh and Stapleview.
