NFL star Tyreek Hill was dragged to the ground by police shortly before the Miami Dolphins’ season opener

Dramatic footage has emerged showing the moment a Miami Dolphins American football star was dragged to the ground by police just hours before his NFL team’s season-opening game.

Tyreek Hill, 30, considered the fastest player in the league, was on his way to the home game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday when he was stopped by traffic police for alleged speeding and reckless driving.

In the video released by Miami police, an officer can be seen asking the $30 million-a-year wide receiver why he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and then telling him to roll down the window.

After a brief exchange of words, Hill rolls the window back up, whereupon a second officer opens the car door and pulls him out.

The player, nicknamed “Cheetah” for his explosive speed, is then seen being forced face down to the ground while a police officer handcuffs him and presses a knee to his back.

“Take me to jail, brother, do what you have to do,” the NFL star can be heard saying.

A police officer responds that “it’s the way it is” before telling Hill to “stop crying” – while the player tells a friend standing nearby to “call Drew” – presumably his agent, Drew Rosenhaus.

As the 30-year-old lies face down on the ground, an officer tells him: “If we tell you to do something, you do it. Do you understand? Not what you want, but what we tell you. You’re a little bit damn confused.”

The police officers are then seen leading the NFL star to a nearby sidewalk where they order him to sit down.

Hill defends himself and tells the police that he has just had surgery on his knee.

Another officer then rushes over and forces Hill to the ground. The NFL star responds by telling the officers to “relax.”
