million lottery ticket sold at Jewel-Osco in Addison – NBC Chicago

Did you recently happen to buy a lottery ticket while shopping at a suburban jewelry store? If so, you may be the proud owner of a lottery ticket with a jackpot prize worth over $9 million.

According to the Illinois Lottery, the ticket, valued at $9.2 million, was sold during Saturday’s drawing at Jewel-Osco in Addison, 140 W. Lake St.

The lucky player matched all six numbers – 2, 15, 21, 29, 42 and 44 – in Saturday’s drawing and won the $9.2 million jackpot, a press release said.

The lucky winner is the 11th Illinois Lottery player to win $1 million or more playing the lottery in 2024, the release said. It is also the second-largest lottery win by an Illinois Lottery player this year, the release said, noting a $10.4 million lottery jackpot won in February.

For selling the winning ticket, the grocery store will receive a bonus of one percent of the prize money, or $92,000, the press release said.

Officials said winners have one year from the date of the drawing to claim their Illinois Lottery prize. For prizes of $250,000 or more, winners can also remain anonymous, officials said.

Lotto is a game played only in Illinois and is played three times a week on Monday, Thursday and Saturday, according to official figures. In addition to the regular drawing, Lotto offers two other drawings: Lotto Million 1 and Lotto Million 2. You can find more information about the game here.
