50 Cent took a targeted shot at Sean “Diddy” Combs after his longtime rival was arrested on Monday night for sex trafficking and organized crime.
The 49-year-old “In da Club” rapper posted a photo on Instagram from his appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show” and poked fun at the $1,000 bottles of lubricant and baby oil that were seized by the Department of Homeland Security from Combs’ home in March.
“Here I am in good company with @thedrewbarrymoreshow,” began 50 Cent’s caption next to a snapshot of him and 49-year-old Barrymore.
“And I don’t have 1,000 bottles of lubricant in the house,” he added.
50 Cent has spent the last year trolling Combs, 54, as he struggled with numerous legal problems.
In July, before Combs’ arrest, 50 Cent gave an interview to The Hollywood Reporter and explained that he never went to the mogul’s parties because he felt there was “just an uncomfortable energy associated with them.”
The “Power” producer and actor, who is making a documentary for Netflix about the sexual assault allegations against Combs, also clarified that despite their previous collaboration, he was never friends with him.
“It was mostly work. I wouldn’t call it friendship because it wouldn’t be disappointing between us if we didn’t talk to each other,” 50 Cent said. “There were times when we worked together. Jennifer Lopez even told him in the beginning that he should work with me as a songwriter. And I was there in the early stages and he could have done my record deal at that point.”
When asked why other celebrities had not spoken out about Diddy, 50 Cent said, “Some of them were involved in the parties and having fun, so they don’t know what the f*** is on the tape and what isn’t, so they won’t say anything because maybe they had too much fun.”
Combs was arrested Monday evening at the Park Hyatt New York in Manhattan.
The record executive faces three federal charges of conspiracy to commit organized crime, sex trafficking and transportation for the purpose of prostitution.
The unsealed 14-page indictment alleges that Combs lured female victims and male sex workers into drugged sexual performances, often lasting days, known as “freak offs.”
The women, often lured under the guise of a romantic relationship, were then given drugs to keep them “obedient and submissive,” court documents say.
The indictment also states that federal authorities discovered 1,000 bottles of lubricant and baby oil, as well as three AR-15s, during a raid on Combs’s Miami and Los Angeles mansions in March.
The bottles were allegedly used in the “freak offs,” during which Combs allegedly “hit, kicked, threw objects at and sometimes dragged the victims by their hair,” according to the indictment.
He is said to have “threatened the careers and livelihoods of the victims” if they refused to take part in the “Freak Offs”.
After Diddy’s arrest, his lawyer stated: “We are disappointed in the decision of the U.S. Attorney’s Office to continue to prosecute Mr. Combs, which we believe is unjust.”
“He is an imperfect human being, but not a criminal. To Mr. Combs’ credit, he has cooperated fully with this investigation and voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges.”
Combs has faced a barrage of lawsuits over the past year from people accusing him of physically or sexually abusing them at the height of his fame as a producer in the 1990s and 2000s.
