Star of “1,000 Pound Sisters” Amy Slaton spent Labor Day behind bars after a camel bite at a Tennessee zoo led to his arrest on suspicion of possession of illegal drugs and alleged endangerment of a child.
Here’s what happened: Crockett County Sheriff’s officers arrived at the Tennessee Safari Park at Alamo on Monday after receiving calls that a guest had been bitten by a camel.
During their investigation, officers came across a vehicle occupied by Slaton and Brian Scott Lovell – and they reportedly noticed a suspicious smell coming from inside.
The smell is believed to be due to drugs – Slaton and Lovvorn were arrested for illegal possession of Schedule I and VI drugs and two counts of child endangerment.
It is not clear who the teen was or what type of drugs were allegedly consumed. Interestingly, weed is illegal in Tennessee.
Both were taken to the county jail, where they posed for mug shots.
Crockett County officials could not say who was bitten by the animal or the severity of the victim’s injuries.
Amy Slaton was a fixture on “1,000-Lb. Sisters” with her sibling Tammy since the first show aired on TLC in 2020, documenting her efforts to lose weight.
Last year, Amy’s husband Michael Haltermanfiled for divorce from Amy after 4 years of marriage. They have two sons together – Gage Deon4 and Glen Allen2.
